Building a safe place to learn and grow.

ABOUT ST. LUC SCHOOL

St. Luc School is a locally operated primary school in Thomassique, Haiti, serving more than 500 students in grades K–8.

HEADCorp supports the school by funding essential operations, including teacher support, student meals, and classroom resources.

The school provides students with:

  • Daily access to education

  • A safe and structured learning environment

  • Instruction from experienced, qualified teachers

  • A daily nutritious meal

WHY THIS MATTERS

In rural communities like Thomassique, access to consistent education is limited by poverty and the lack of publicly funded schools. For many families, the cost of tuition makes it difficult for children to attend school regularly.

St. Luc School provides a stable and supportive environment where students can access education consistently, receive daily meals, and continue their learning year after year.

GROWTH OF ST. LUC SCHOOL

Since HEADCorp began supporting St. Luc School, the school has grown from a small, single-classroom program into a multi-level primary school serving more than 500 students in Thomassique. This growth reflects both the increasing demand for education in the community and the continued investment in the school’s capacity.

The timeline below highlights key milestones in the school’s development.

2015
Initial Visit to Haiti

Three founding members of HEADCorp traveled to Thomassique, Haiti to support a community project focused on improving access to clean water.

During this visit, they built relationships with local leaders and gained a deeper understanding of the challenges facing the community, including limited access to education.

2016
Introduction to St. Luc School

Future founding members of HEADCorp returned to Haiti and spent time in Thomassique, where they were introduced to St. Luc School and its local leadership.

During this visit, relationships were established with the school and broader community, laying the foundation for a long-term partnership focused on expanding access to education.

2017
Solar Lighting Installation at St. Luc School

Members of the group returned to Thomassique and partnered with St. Luc School to install solar lighting, improving the learning environment for students.

This visit further strengthened relationships and reinforced a commitment to ongoing support.

2018
Founding of HEADCorp

HEADCorp was established and began supporting St. Luc School in Thomassique. At that time, the school consisted of a single, partially enclosed classroom serving multiple grade levels.

This limited infrastructure made it difficult to provide consistent, structured instruction and underscored the need for expanded facilities and resources.

2019
Land Acquisition and School Expansion

HEADCorp purchased adjacent land, creating space for the school to grow for the first time. The school expanded into a larger, partially enclosed structure that accommodated more students and allowed for the hiring of qualified teachers.

This marked an important step toward building a permanent school facility.

2020
Construction Begins

HEADCorp raised funds to begin construction on a new school building to accommodate growing enrollment and improve the learning environment.

This marked the beginning of a multi-year effort to expand the school’s capacity and provide dedicated classroom space.

2022 - 2023
First & Second Floors Completed

Construction of the first and second floors of the new school building was completed, significantly expanding the school’s capacity.

The new classrooms provide dedicated space for each grade level, supporting more structured and effective instruction.

2024
Campus Improvements

Additional infrastructure improvements were completed, including the addition of bathrooms and a kitchen, improving sanitation, supporting daily meal preparation, and enhancing overall conditions for students and staff.

2025
Third Floor Completed

Construction of the third floor was completed, further expanding the school’s capacity. The campus now includes 13 classrooms serving students in grades K–8, providing dedicated learning space for each grade level and bringing the school closer to full completion.

Today
A Growing School Community

Today, St. Luc School serves 570 students in Thomassique for the 2025–2026 school year, providing consistent access to education, daily meals, and a safe, structured learning environment.
