Completing the Third Floor
St. Luc school has come a long way in the 10 years we’ve been partnered with them. Our greatest accomplishment yet happened this year when we expanded into three levels. Thanks to our amazing donors, we were able to hire a construction crew to build the third level during the summer break so that when our kiddos returned to school in September, they had a whole new floor furnished with tables and benches ready for the new year.
As the student body has grown, nearly doubling at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, the need for more space, more desks and more benches has grown. We knew that the only way we could welcome these students comfortably was with a new level. Many of these new students recently escaped violent environments in various parts of Haiti, and St. Luc is their safe haven.

We often get asked if our students continue going to school even amidst the rising gang violence happening in the city. We are fortunate at St. Luc to have amazing staff that care for our kiddos, chefs that continue feeding each student with a hot, nutritious meal, and large steel gates at our entrance. While not every students attends each day, we welcome every student with open arms to come and learn new skills to prepare them for their futures.
At St. Luc, we believe in the futures of the children of Haiti. Facing against the odds every day, these kids come to school with grateful hearts and positive attitudes. This third floor further allows us to welcome in students who may have never been to school before or are at risk of abandoning their education altogether.
